After a year of trying to work w/ volunteer editors, we got nowhere. The main volunteer had the footage for almost a year and didn't work on it because his paying jobs took precidence. We're trying to raise funds to where we can secure an editor to actually work on and finish this amazing, historical documentary that so many wonderful people around the planet have participated in.
For those advising me to consider kickstarter.com, I have looked into it, but the "all or nothing" timeline rule is a gamble. Should we be unable to come up w/ sufficient funding to get an editor secured, I will consider kickstarter again.
We've decided to re-open contributions, especially for the newcomers and attendees at #STS135. Tell us how you feel abut NASA, space vs. earth sciences, if you feel NASA is a waste of money or a good investment, etc. Your opinion is valid and we'd like to hear it. Camera shy? Take a look at other people who did self-interviews and you can see it's casual and fun.
Many people expressed interest after the deadline passed, so here's your privilege to participate again: As re-searcher, Animator, Musician, Voice Over, writers, interviewer, or donations. There are opportunities to contribute all over the website. Check them out and pick one that appeals to you. Share your opinion with the world. This film is being made to give those w/ a love for space a voice. It is also open to take comments from people who are against nasa space and earth sciences. It will be as balanced a film as we can make. All opinions treated with respect.
